Appliance Technologies for your home and office
There are three appliances regularly used in the average home that consume a significant percentage of its consumed electricity: the clothes washer, the refrigerator, and the freezer. Grasslands offers a simple plug-in technology that creates instant savings for these three everyday appliances without having to replace them.
How Does It Work?
Our StediWatt Optimizer can save up to 35% of the electricity consumed
by a lightly-loaded household appliance such as a refrigerator, freezer, or clothes
washing machine. This technology monitors the power used by whatever is
plugged into it and adjusts the savings to an optimum point.
The Optimizer has its own built-in electronic intelligence that seeks the lowest consumption point while maintaining full operation of that appliance. If the conditions change, the Optimizer immediately reacts to that change and permits whatever power is required at that moment, and then again seeks the optimum savings point.
How Many
Units Do I Need?
One Optimizer controls a single 8-Amp household appliance that includes most refrigerators, free-standing freezers, and clothes washing machines. The
label on the back of your appliance will tell you how much current (Amps) it
uses. This number should be 8 or less and you will need one unit for each
appliance.
Only one unit is needed per appliance; buying two units for one appliance will not save twice as much energy.
Note that some green and high-efficiency appliances already use similar technologies and adding an Optimizer cannot further reduce consumption.
What Features Does It
Have?
Our Optimizer not only reduces electrical consumption of the appliance, but
it also has a built-in surge protector that protects this appliance from
transient voltages, such as those created by lightning or by other motors
starting up.
The Optimizer cannot be used with resistive appliances such as electric stoves, electric hot water heaters, coffee pots, hair dryers, electric space heaters, etc.
